Alicia Ryan is the founder and CEO of Leadership Strategies, Inc. (LSINC). Over the past 20 years, she has been a senior analyst focusing on the nuances and interrelationships of senior executives in government, defense and commercial industries. She has facilitated multiple strategic planning sessions on the executive level with entities ranging from the Tooele Army Depot to Booz Allen & Hamilton. Ms. Ryan’s areas of expertise as a leader and strategist lie in business strategy and development, market assessment, management development and coaching, organizational development, change management and information technology consulting in the federal, state, and commercial markets.

Early in Ms. Ryan’s career, she held the position of integration manager at Network Management, Inc. and later a project leader for the development and implementation of an automated EPA-wide telecommunications chargeback system. In collaboration with the Department of Treasury, Ms. Ryan evaluated the Treasury Communications Systems’ proposals and validated contract proposals to ensure compliance with Requests for Proposal and Federal Acquisition Regulations.

In the early 1990s, Ms. Ryan served as Director of Collaborative Network Services at DynCorp Information and Engineering Technology. She developed and implemented a new e-Government core competency practice. Within 18 months, she increased her staff from 1 with zero revenue to 35 with $2.4 million in annual revenue. Her responsibilities included strategic planning, business development and the implementation of new business and software processes, which achieved a Software Engineering Institute Maturity Level 2 rating.

In 1998, Ms. Ryan moved to San Diego, California, where she joined Silicon Space, Inc., an innovative e-Business consulting firm specializing in intranet/extranet technologies. As the Director of Business Development, she worked with the company’s partners to research, plan and execute strategic planning, business development and operational activities. The company’s business doubled and it entered the government market under Ms. Ryan’s direction.

In 1999, Ms. Ryan joined Booz Allen & Hamilton. As a senior associate, she created and managed the Market Assessment Group, delivered marketing assessment, business development and organizational development to advance and enhance the firm’s efforts in various marketplaces. Ms. Ryan combined industry experience with organizational intelligence and academic practice to deliver strategic planning, organizational transformation, business process development, industry and market research, and “best business” solutions.

In 1999, Ms. Ryan transferred to Booz Allen & Hamilton headquarters in McLean, Virginia, where she served as a senior associate. She created and managed a 40-member strategic business intelligence team with an annual $5 million budget. Her division delivered competitive intelligence, marketing assessment, business development and organizational development expertise to advance and enhance the leaders within the $2 billion Worldwide Technology Business efforts in various marketplaces. She directly supported the senior partners on the Senior Strategic Working Group with market analysis and competitive business intelligence capabilities that provided the backbone for the firm’s major market strategies and had a direct impact on performance, management behavior, investment decisions and risk management.

In 2008, Ms. Ryan used her experience in government acquisition and contracting, executive level strategic planning and business development to create LSINC. As a result of Ms. Ryan’s visionary abilities, the firm has a unique service offering that provides analytical research, positioning strategies and executive level decision making support to obtain tangible results. A client succinctly summed up her abilities by stating that she “has the intuitive ability to connect many dots and is able to communicate them to different types of audiences, allowing them to come together and work together in a collaborative effort for success.”

Ms. Ryan holds an MS degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University and graduate level studies at George Washington University and Mary Mount University. She earned BS degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from George Mason University.
